We hope you will enjoy ourAnnascaul Pottery Beakers and consider purchasing a piece as a small gift for someone special. Ideal for father’s days or mother’s day or as a birthday present.
Aoife’s workshop and studio is in the middle village opposite Hanafin’s bar. Aoife has been with the business since the late 1970 but stopped to rear her family in early 2007. She started back again in 2020 and has been working and redefining the clays she wishes to use withine the pottery. These Annascaul Pottery Beakers were the result of several tests.
The village of Annascaul is on the Dingle Peninsula, Co. Kerry. Aoife designs, hand makes and hand decorate all of the ceramics we have in the cafe. She hand throws each piece. They are then put into a individual glaze and then she decorates them using unique colours and design.
There is a small video in relation to the kiln and our first firing here. “I hope you enjoy these new pieces from 2022/3 as much as I have enjoyed making them.”
Pottery is the process and the products of forming vessels and other objects with clay . We fire each piece at very high temperatures deopending on the clay we use. In thee past we used teracotta but now we are working with earthenware.
