Annascaul Community Photo Event on April 28th . This project is produce Social Photos of People in Annascaul who live in the region. It is important to have an up to date record of people in Annascaul in their local setting. – Annascaul ag nascadh an phobail.
Connecting the Annascaul Community. This project is to photograph people in Annascaul in their local setting. It is important to support notions of community in a rural village. The village has a population of about 600 people and contains a number of public spaces which includes a village hall, post-office, 5 local pubs and 2 coffee shops. The village runs several annual events, including Feile na Bealtaine, quizes and death cafes, and several event at Christmas time. It has a strong local history organisation. This photo event will be inclusive of everybody in the village and its immediate surroundings. It will give a good insight into local community life in Annascaul and the people that live here

Margaret Kennedy is looking to take social photos of people in Annascaul. She has a friendly and approachable style and puts everyone at ease in front of the camera . “Interesting, fresh and most definitely humorous” said the Kerryman. With her parents from the village, Margaret has already made a short documentary on Jerome O’ Conner, the talented sculpture.. See video here . Therefore Margaret has the skills and the local knowledge to manage this Annascaul Community Photo Event
The images will all be displayed in the village during Feile na Bealtaine 2023. We would love you to be part of this community project and we ask you to participate and definitely come and see the exhibition at Aido’s Annascaul Cafe and Pottery . The exhibition runs from April 28th to May 1st

Margaret will reach out to business people in the village, farmers, beauticians, doctors, nurses,
artists, shop owners, church representatives, cafes, bars , B&Bs, engineers, postmen, teachers, GAA
players and management, home care workers, schools etc. The exhibition will take place April 28th. There has been an amazing uptake in peoples interest in the history of the village.. There are numerpius articles written about the villagfe and its history. Margaret thougth it would be nice to have social photos of people in Annascaul and consequently this Annascaul Community Photo Event came about . The exhibition comes very close to an interpretive record of village daily life.
