The beauty of Annascaul

In an article in Trip Advisor  recently on things  to  do  near  Inch  beach it is amazing they do even  mention anything about Annascaul. They mentioned  Rossbeigh, Dooks Golf Club  , Waterville Glenteenassig Forest Park , Staigue Fort, Kells sheep Center , Kerry Bog Village Museum, Glenbeigh Fairy Forest, Spinin, West Kerry Trekking, Kingston’s Bar & Beer Garden  and Killorglin Golf Club but nothing about Annascaul. Inch is a beach near Annascaul and Trip advisor  forgot about one of the closest picturesque  villages to the beach

Annascaul is only 7km away from Inch Beach

It is so intriguing as Annascaul  didnt  even get  a mention.  They did not mention the great Annascaul  River Walk which is a great family  walking route .

annascaul lake

Annascaul is famous  for its  hill walking .  Annascaul is a  village in the heart of the Dingle Peninsula. It has mountains and magnificent coastline. There are pristine flowing river tributaries surrounding the village . Even our famous son, Tom Crean hails from Annascaul

Walking in Annascaul

The Annascaul walking clubs meets at Hanafin’s bar  across  from Aido’s Annascaul Cafe and Pottery which is on the main street. The clubs offers a warm welcome to those of all ages and abilities to join and follow the trailing walks in the area.

From above Annascaul Lake you can easily see the full panorama of Dingle Bay. It is possible to see the  Blasket Isands, and back over to Brandon Bay and Mount Brandon. The full vista of the valley of Annascaul to Minard Castle and Bunaneer is  completely viewable

Archeology in Annascaul

Annascaul offers many chances to examine its archeological history which are pre-and early-Christian. For example , the area has one of the richest numbers concentrations of ring forts  and standing stones (gallán) in Europe

At this  point we need to look at the bar and the food scene in Annascaul. Annascaul Cafe and Pottery offer great take away foods in the village  which are extremely well priced for te amount of food they offer. They make their own cakes . That is the beauty of  home made.  There is nothing generic at this ideal and peaceful cafe. Feel free to look at the Instagram article here
